CARIMI: MESSAGE FROM AN HMI LEGEND on....
__________________________________________
We spoke to FABRICE ROUZIER about CARIMI and their situation, and what the FUTURE can hold....(READ BELOW THE PICTURE)
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: CAN or SHOULD Carimi do a MIZIK MIZIK and continue the band WITHOUT Mickael; even though the difference with you guys is that YOU and KEKE are the owners of Mizik Mizik...and Manno was NOT....whereas MICKAEL is an active owner of CARIMI? Maybe I should rephrase the question...SHOULD/CAN they continue and be successful the same way WITHOUT Mickael as the singer?
FABRICE ROUZIER: "I think that the relationship between us is based on friendship first and foremost. Even when there were disagreements, there was never a lack of respect or engagement. I don't think that Mickael's departure is the only problem with the band. From afar, it appears that everybody is not pulling the same weight and that creates frustrations and mistrust. It's hard to go on if these issues are not resolved."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: What's the BEST WAY/STRATEGY for a band to continue having success, after losing a very popular SINGER in a group; and to make the fans ACCEPT a new singer replacing the popular one? You are the PERFECT INDIVIDUAL to ask that question I believe. Is there a FORMULA written in the HMI book for that?
FABRICE ROUZIER: "None...Future success will be based on pure luck , acceptance of the public and commitment from the remaining members and the new recruits. The best strategy is to keep on creating and delivering your best work. At the end of the day, the vibes coming from the band will be transmitted to the public.
There have been some successful transitions just like there have been disastrous ones. DP losing Herve Bleus, getting Ti Manno losing him and getting Benito....is a good example because the primary importance was not given to individuals but to the band. Some will argue that DP was never the same after Ti Manno. But DP far outlasted Ti Manno and was by some extent much more successful than Gemini ever was.
It is a touchy subject and i believe that there is not a singular solution. I also know that when a band breaks up the last thing you want to do is put it back together just the way it was....It is unrealistic. Times and market conditions change and you must adapt to them. The energy that you had at the beginning of the venture is certainly not what you have today. It's a tough predicament to be in."
