This is what FABRICE ROUZIER told us tonight on the matter.

FABRICE ROUZIER: "It's a very sad day for Haitian Music in general. Carimi is, as of this writing, the last Haitian Konpa band to achieve substantial international recognition and there does not seem to be a replacement in sight. It must be an incredibly difficult time for the band members, their families and the fans. Collectively they have created an institution that advanced Haitian music and greatly represented Haiti on many prestigious world class events globally.

The members and the many fans have to be extremely proud and grateful. This is not an opportunity awarded to all. I urge all of you to keep all Carimi members in your prayers and give them some space. I hope they use some time to get back to their families and friends. I also know deep in my heart that these talented gentlemen will not remain silent and will continue to contribute musically to help project a positive image of Haiti. God bless all of us !."
