It is UNBELIEVABLE how in several conversations that I had with certain musicians and promoters dating back to as recently as 1 year ago; the "ZOUK NIGHT" phenomenon was DISMISSED AS A JOKE. CREDIT was NOT given to that MOVEMENT by some key players in the business, whether it be musicians who felt that their value as an artist would decrease if they jumped into that "ZOUK NIGHT" wave; or promoters who refused to deal with bands they felt were not true reflections of "real" compas as THEY put it.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE 1 year makes....and it seems as if all credible artists/bands are taking a stab at what the fans and industry have named "ZOUK NIGHT" or "GOUYAD MUSIC/BANDS".

HMMMMM.....Is it safe to say that the major players BOWED DOWN to the "ZOUK NIGHT/GOUYAD MUSIC" Phenomenon?

Of course they bowed down...but not willingly by any case...biggest problem with the HMI besides structure and professionalism is the lack of foresight...not understand the market not understanding supply and demand which is all about understanding the consumer.

the 18-30 crowd is whats driving the night life...and if they want gouyad you give it to them. Not to say they dont enjoy good konpa direct its just the bands are not packaging in a way for these young consumers to relate.
